Children's Health Care (Children's Minnesota) is excited to announce the Respiratory Therapy Scholarship Program, part of our "Building a Stronger Future: Advancing Pediatric Care Through Workforce Development" initiative. This program offers financial awards of up to $15,000 for participants interested in a career in Respiratory Therapy at Children's Minnesota or the broader workforce. 100% funding of this program is made possible by an $875,000 grant received by the US Department of Labor's Community Project Funding.
The RT Scholarship Program collaborates with key educational institutions to ensure the successful delivery of services, including Saint Paul College, Chippewa Valley Technical College, and Northland Community College.

Interested candidates that have a strong science background, good communication skills and a fast-paced environment would be ideal for this scholarship.
- Must be enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program
- GPA of 3.0 or higher in any completed college courses
- Must have a desire to work with pediatrics and work at Children's Minnesota after graduation
- Must complete application to be considered
- These funds are taxable for employees when given over $5,250 in a calendar year. For non-employees, they could be taxable income if they are not applied towards qualified education expenses. Please consult your tax professional.
Currently we are taking applications on a rolling basis through August 2027. Please check back for updates if this is extended.
At Children's Minnesota, our Respiratory Therapists have an important role in delivering care in a level 1 Trauma Emergency room, to pediatric, Neonatal, and Cardiovascular ICU's. Respiratory Therapists are involved with airway management, medication delivery, ventilatory support, asthma education, and disease management. We follow patients from the minute they are born until the day they are discharged.
